Acceptable use policy
New Game Guides is free to read and doesn't need an account. This policy explains the few things we ask of everyone who uses it. It is part of our terms of use.
Reading and sharing
- Read, bookmark, print and link to any page.
- Quote short passages with a link back to the page. Don't copy whole pages or present them as your own.
Automated access
- Search engines and AI assistants are welcome, following our robots.txt.
- Don't access paths that robots.txt disallows, including
/api/, with automated tools. - Don't send so many requests that the site slows down for others, and identify your crawler honestly in its user agent.
Our data pages
Player counts and achievement rates come from Valve's public Steam Web API, which we read within its terms. Please don't scrape our copies of that data in bulk; the Steam Web API is the original source.
The contact form
Use the contact form for corrections, questions and feedback. Please don't send:
- spam, advertising, link requests or automated submissions;
- harassment, threats, hate speech or sexual content;
- other people's personal information, passwords or payment details;
- requests for cheats, exploits, account trading, real-money trading of in-game items or pirated copies of games.
We delete messages like these without replying.
Security
Don't try to break into the site, its database or its hosting, test it for vulnerabilities without permission, or get around rate limits. If you find a security problem, tell us through the contact form instead of using it.
What happens if this policy is broken
We may block the traffic or messages involved. Repeated or serious abuse may be reported to the network or host it comes from.
