How we write guides
These rules apply to every page on New Game Guides.
Sources come first
- Facts come from the developer or publisher: Steam announcements, official websites, official FAQs and in-game text published on Steam.
- When a developer statement only appears in press coverage, we name the outlet in the sentence and in the source list.
- Every page ends with its sources and the date we last checked them.
No guessing
- We don't invent drop rates, dates, prices or "best" picks. If something hasn't been announced, the page says so.
- We keep the time zones the developer used, because event and maintenance times differ by region.
- Codes are listed as active only while an official source says they are valid.
Data pages
- Achievement tables use the names, descriptions and global unlock rates from the Steam Web API, refreshed once a day.
- Player counts come from the Steam Web API, sampled once an hour; our history chart is built from those samples.
- We only use Steam's official interfaces, within the Steam Web API terms, and we don't copy Steam store or community pages. We are not affiliated with Valve.
Our own words
We summarize and restructure official information; we don't republish other sites' guides or game art.
How drafts are produced
We compile official information and public data; we don't claim to have played the games. Drafts are written with the help of AI tools, working only from the sources listed on each page, and every date, number, price and name is checked against those sources before the page goes up.
