Enshrouded Launch FAQ: Platforms, Saves, Rewards and PC Specs

Answers come from Keen Games’ Steam posts, mainly its October 13 launch FAQ and the 1.0 changelog, plus the Enshrouded Steam store page.

Is Enshrouded on PS5?

A PS5 version exists, but Keen’s Steam posts don’t give it a release date or price. In late August 2026, Keen said part of the team was at Gamescom showing the PS5 version to the press. The 1.0 date it announced in June was for Steam, where Enshrouded left Early Access on October 15, 2026.

Is it on Xbox?

None of Keen’s 2026 Steam posts mention an Xbox version. In August 2024, Keen said it planned a full launch on PC, PlayStation and Xbox in 2025, but 1.0 ended up arriving on Steam in October 2026 and no Xbox date has been given since.

Is there crossplay?

No. The launch FAQ says Enshrouded is not cross-platform at launch. Keen is working on cross-platform play but has no estimate for how long it will take.

Do Early Access owners need to buy it again?

No. If you bought the PC version during Early Access, you already own 1.0.

What is the Early Access reward?

Three decorative base props, exclusive to Early Access players:

To claim them:

1. Open the escape menu in game.
2. Select Redeem Add-Ons.
3. Claim the props. You can claim them more than once.

Players who bought the game after Early Access can’t place these props themselves. An Early Access player can visit their world and place one for them, and the world’s owner can remove it later but not place it again. Keen notes the props look slightly different in game than in its preview images because of transparency effects.

Keen also says all of its Twitch drops can be found in game.

Do old saves work, or do you need a new world?

Early Access saves work in 1.0, and you don’t have to start a new world. Here’s what changes when you load one:

Skill tree	Reset the first time you play 1.0 with an existing save; spend your points again

Corrupted character saves	Since Hotfix 1.0.0.2 they’re skipped instead of crashing the migration; Keen is working on a fix that repairs and migrates them
Shroud Root achievements	Stay unlocked, even though new roots were added

Even so, Keen strongly encourages starting over, because the world and the first hours of the game changed a lot. The full list of changes is in our Enshrouded 1.0 changes guide.

Where are the save files?

Local saves now live in C:\Users\WINDOWSUSER\Saved Games\keen games\Enshrouded\default, where WINDOWSUSER is your Windows account name. The character and world selection menus have separate tabs for local and Steam Cloud saves, so check both tabs if a character or world seems to be missing. The game also warns you when save files can’t be overwritten, for example when they’re set to read-only in Windows.

How much does it cost?

The Steam store lists Enshrouded at $35.99 in the US as of October 19, 2026. On August 31, Keen announced the price would rise by €10, to €39.99, on September 8, 2026, and said it had always planned a price increase for the end of Early Access. The store page also lists Steam Family Sharing support.

How many players can play together?

Up to 16 players in online co-op, according to the store page, and you can also play solo. Hosts now set a default permission level for joining players with one password and can promote or demote people individually. On dedicated servers, password-based user groups work as before.

What are the PC system requirements?

From the Steam store page. Windows only, 64-bit required.

Keen’s 1.0 changelog also lists lower memory use and better performance on handheld devices, low-end graphics cards and the Steam Deck.

Which languages are supported?

Steam lists 15 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian and Thai. Voice-over for lore notes and the main survivors is in English, German and Chinese, with other languages planned for later. Text and voice language are set separately in the game settings.

What hasn’t been announced yet?

• A PS5 release date and price.
• Any current Xbox plans: the last mention is the 2024 plan.
• A crossplay timeline: Keen only says it is working on it.
• When corrupted characters can be migrated: a fix is in progress, with no date.
• What happens to bases in reworked areas: the changelog reworks the terrain of Springlands, Revelwood, Blackmire and Nomad Highlands, but Keen hasn’t said how converted worlds handle existing builds there.
