What changed in updates 0.1.82 and 0.1.78?
Both were posted on October 19; 0.1.78 covers changes since 0.1.74 and 0.1.82 covers changes since 0.1.81.
| Area | Changes |
|---|---|
| Speech recognition | New Speech settings tab; Moonshine now covers English, Arabic, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, with language packs bundled; Moonshine picked automatically on PCs without AVX2; Whisper falls back to Moonshine for the session if it fails, with 15-second time limits |
| Deepgram | Optional online recognition with your own Deepgram account and API key; your audio goes to Deepgram and usage is billed to your account. The developers still recommend built-in recognition for English and Spanish |
| Caller voices | Qwen3 no longer rejects compatible PCs reporting slightly under 16 GB RAM or 8 GB graphics memory, waits up to 20 seconds before switching to the other voice system, and no longer blocks hosting or joining when setup fails |
| Family Friendly mode | Covers caller openings and ongoing conversations; boss-review narration follows the host’s setting; blocks the in-game browser and replaces private caller photos in PrivateMail and AnyViewer |
| Scams | Password Recovery is back, with clearer AnyViewer instructions; better recognition of agreed plans and amounts across seven scams; Password Recovery and Police Impersonation callers share the correct details and codes instead of inventing numbers |
| Privacy and accounts | First-launch EULA and privacy notice; new Disable Call Saving option; warnings when a host’s OpenRouter key or your Deepgram key fails; a warning when Steam confirms the account doesn’t own the game |
| Multiplayer and office | Add Steam friend button; Prestige counts above names; an I’m stuck control hint; wider fire-extinguisher spray; another player disconnecting no longer clears your controls |
| Other | Mirror drawing in Character Creator, better WAV and MP3 voice imports, VSync on by default when no preference is saved, AI usage checks recalibrated to reduce false flags |
What changed in update 0.1.73?
Posted October 17 as “Fixes and Scam Upgrades”, with major speech recognition, crash and sign-in fixes. The scam changes:
| Scam | What changed |
|---|---|
| Bitcoin and Meme Coin | Now live investment rounds: get the caller to invest, then choose when to cash out, for up to $700. Values rise toward a randomly timed market crash, and you can still cash out what’s left during it. Reassuring the caller delays withdrawal but can’t stop the crash. Getting caught, losing the caller or waiting too long forfeits that round’s unpaid earnings |
| Lottery Prize | The caller emails you the ticket, you enter the confirmation code, then scratch three numbers for $0, $200, $500 or $1,000, with a 5% jackpot chance |
| Police Impersonation | You must enter the caller’s fine payment confirmation number to get paid |
| Investment Scam | You must enter the caller’s invoice number; the payout matches the agreed investment |
| Password Recovery | Removed (restored in 0.1.78) |
Other changes:
- Each player now works through the available callers before hearing repeats.
- Automatic microphone leveling is on by default. Turn it off in General settings to set the level manually from 50% to 200%.
- Moonshine English recognition for older Windows processors without AVX.
- Steam sign-in through your browser when in-game sign-in fails, and bug reports even when sign-in is down.
- VIP cosmetics restored for players with legacy unlimited AI access, plus fixes for saved keybindings and the game process getting stuck after quitting.
What did the launch hotfixes fix?
Three posts on October 15 and 16, grouped by area:
| Area | Fixes |
|---|---|
| Voices and speech | Qwen3 downloads moved to a dedicated server; a warning before hosting or joining if the better voices aren’t ready; speech startup crashes fixed (including on GTX 1650 and RTX 4060 Ti PCs and older CPUs); Whisper restored on CPUs with AVX but not AVX2; microphone sensitivity control |
| AI access | Wrong PC clocks no longer block AI access; AI failures and temporary usage limits show status messages instead of fake caller dialogue |
| Lobbies | Sizes of 1-8 players enforced; filters for player count and country; join codes accept Steam invite links; clearer version-mismatch screen; better reliability during Steam network congestion; backup sign-in route |
| Gameplay | At least five seconds between calls at your desk; viruses and their popups disabled on laptops; prop pickup and lighting fixes; knockdown protection also blocks damage and tackles |
| Custom callers | Daily Callers links kept after restarts; stuck Workshop uploads fixed; Character Creator opens straight into making a caller; WAV and MP3 import crash fixed |
| Privacy and controls | Confirmation before opening or restoring the in-game browser; leaving your computer closes its browser session; controller stick drift no longer takes over the mouse |
What are the developers working on next?
At launch, the developers said they are working on fixes for AI and voice recognition problems as quickly as possible. Their Early Access Q&A lists more scam scenarios and fictional callers, deeper workday progression and office interactions, a better co-op experience, and work on balance, performance and usability before a full release targeted for mid-December 2026. They collect feedback and bug reports through Steam discussions and their Discord.
What hasn’t been announced yet?
- A schedule for future updates: so far they have come every day or two, with no announced schedule.
- Mac and Linux support: the game warns that Mac, Linux, CrossOver, Wine and Proton are currently unsupported.
- Specific content for the full release beyond the Early Access Q&A goals.
Platform, price and gameplay basics are in the FAQ. Live Steam numbers are on the player count page, and all guides are on the game hub.
