AION 2 Ludra: What NCSoft Has Announced
Ludra returns to Atreia in AION 2 on November 4 with new mechanics. Normal mode needs item level 2,800 and hard mode 3,000. The first 20 parties per region to clear hard mode earn ranked titles, and anyone else who clears during the event gets one too. A 14-day check-in, Twitch Drops and a Bootcamp run alongside.
This page sums up what NCSoft announced in its post Ludra Awakens on November 4th: what Ludra is, when it arrives, who can take part, what the surrounding events pay, and how the post suggests getting ready. It is based on the official announcement (last updated October 30) and related posts, checked on November 1, 2026. Ludra arrives after this page was written, so everything here is described as announced, and details could change once it is live.
What is Ludra in AION 2?
NCSoft frames the update as Ludra re-entering Atreia, returning with new mechanics. The post calls Ludra “the first major challenge players will face” in the game, and everything around it is built on parties defeating Ludra in one of two modes, normal or hard.
That is most of what the post says about the fight itself. It doesn’t describe where Ludra appears, how you enter, how the new mechanics work, or what drops from a clear. The rest of the announcement is about events built around the launch.
One naming trap: Ludra is also an Asmodian server in Europe, listed in NCSoft’s October 28 matchmaking notice. The server has nothing to do with this content; our servers and factions guide explains how servers and pairings work.
When does Ludra arrive, and how long do the events run?
Ludra itself returns on November 4. The post gives event times in PST and CET:
| Event | Starts | Ends |
|---|---|---|
| Odyle Energy Boost | After the October 28 maintenance | Before the November 10 (PST) / November 11 (CET) maintenance |
| Ludra Conquest Check-In, Twitch Drops, Daeva Bootcamp, Outfit Contest | November 4, 06:00 PST / 15:00 CET | November 17, 23:59 PST / November 18, 08:59 CET |
| Ludra Hunt titles | After the November 4 maintenance | Before the November 24 (PST) / November 25 (CET) maintenance |
The timing lines up with the end of Halloween. NCSoft’s Trick or Treat event closes at the November 3 (PST) / November 4 (CET) maintenance, so anything left to claim in the Halloween event has to be done before Ludra week begins.
Who can take part?
Item level is the gate. NCSoft says normal mode and hard mode are available immediately to players who have reached item level 2,800 and 3,000 respectively.
The Ludra Hunt runs separately in each of the five regions: Europe, NA East, NA West, South America and Asia. Its title counts suggest ten-player parties: ten players for the first party to clear hard mode, 40 for the next four parties and 150 for the fifteen after that. The post doesn’t say whether a party must come from a single server.
What does the Ludra Hunt reward?
The Ludra Hunt is a title race. The first 20 parties in each region to clear hard mode get ranked titles, and NCSoft says the parties that take Ludra down first will also be memorialized in the in-game Hall of Fame. Everyone else who clears either mode during the event still gets a title.
| Rank | Who qualifies, per region | Title |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | First party to clear hard mode (10 players) | The First to Slay Ludra |
| 2 | Second to fifth parties to clear hard mode (40 players) | Ludra’s Conqueror |
| 3 | Sixth to twentieth parties to clear hard mode (150 players) | Ludra’s Vanquisher |
| Universal | All other players who clear normal or hard mode | Ludra’s Nemesis |
The ranked titles carry a purple decorative effect. Titles are only awarded for clears inside the event window, and NCSoft says they will be sent no later than December 2, 23:59 PST. The title names above come from the October 30 version of the post, which renamed them, so older copies of the announcement may show different names.
What do the other Ludra events give?
Ludra Conquest Check-In
Log in and check in once a day. Each check-in unlocks the next reward, and there are seven rewards over the 14-day event, so you can miss up to seven days and still finish the track.
| Day | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Bound Kina x500,000 |
| 2 | Centuryroot Token (Shugo Coin) x2,000 |
| 3 | Phantasmal Fragment (Nightmare Coin) x3,000 |
| 4 | Abyss Points x30,000 |
| 5 | Soul Crystal x3,000 |
| 6 | Bound Kina x1,000,000 |
| 7 | Lush Leaf Tiara (Helm) x1 |
Odyle Energy Boost
This one is already running. Log in each day, open your in-game mail and claim four Odyle Energy; NCSoft updated the amount to four on October 27. There is one delivery per account per day, and each event mail expires seven days after it arrives.
Twitch Drops
The Drops campaign in the event window has ten rewards between one and 14 hours of watch time. They start with a Battle Support Chest at one hour and include Skin Chests, Mysterious Pet Chests, a Customization Chest, a Soul Codex Chest, six Odyle Energy at eight hours, Dotted Glasses at 12 hours and a Black Conical Hat helm skin at 14 hours. The October 30 update combined some items into boxes but, according to NCSoft, didn’t change what can be redeemed.
Daeva Bootcamp
This is a worldwide milestone event. Clears of eligible dungeons in all five regions count toward shared targets, and each milestone sends rewards to every player by in-game mail. Eligible dungeons are Krao Cave, Draupnir, Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island in Conquest (normal or hard), plus Shattered Arkanis and Deus Research Base in Transcendence (all stages). The five milestones run from 500,000 to 7,000,000 clears and pay Instant Clear Tickets, Intermediate Training Arcana and Resurrection Stones, with everything delivered by November 18, 23:59 PST.
Ludra Outfit Contest
Post one in-game screenshot of an outfit that represents Ludra in the official Discord, with your region, server and character name. Editing and AI are not allowed. Community managers pick first to third place (6,000, 3,000 and 1,000 Quna), Discord upvotes decide a Community’s Choice winner (3,000 Quna), and participants get two Dye Tokens. Only Europe, NA East, NA West and South America are eligible.
How can you prepare, based on the post?
The announcement gives a few concrete hints, and they all point the same way:
- Reach the item level first. It is the only entry requirement the post mentions: 2,800 for normal mode, 3,000 for hard mode.
- Spend the Odyle Energy. NCSoft’s own suggestion is to use the boost to run more Expeditions, clear more Transcendence Dungeons and gear up before Ludra arrives. Claim each mail within seven days.
- Plan your logins. Seven check-ins between November 4 and November 17 (PST) finish the check-in track.
- Link Twitch before you watch. Drops go to the account your Twitch is linked to; our codes and free rewards page explains how linking worked for earlier campaigns.
- Know what counts for titles. Ranked titles need a hard mode clear inside the event window; any other clear in that window earns Ludra’s Nemesis.
What hasn’t been announced?
- The exact maintenance time on November 4.
- How to enter Ludra, party size rules, attempt limits or what a clear drops.
- What the new mechanics are.
- How the Hall of Fame will display the first clears.
- Whether the item level requirements will change after launch week.
